Hey there! I’m Kanika, a freelance writer with a deep passion for all things creative and cultural. My love for music spans across genres—from the smooth tunes of Fats Domino and Charley Pride to the vibrant beats of soca, UK hip-hop (shout out to Loyle Carner and Potter Payper), reggae, and calypso. Movies and food are also close to my heart—friends often say I should open a restaurant! You’ll find me sharing food-related blogs here too (food brands, let’s talk!).

Beyond my creative interests, I’m particularly passionate about social issues affecting women. Much of my work involves supporting charities that empower women in approved premises, detention centres, and prisons, often focusing on women with experiences of substance abuse, trafficking, or violence against women and girls (VAWG).

I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible organisations, including the Katie Piper Foundation, Hibiscus Initiatives, and Elect Her. These experiences inspire my writing and advocacy for meaningful change.
